Only a certain type of people happen to visit this hidden little store: those who like what they see in the window. The colors are subdued, the embroidery is minimal and the cut is any old way it wants to be. But you just have to find one good buy at Ambara, and you'll always keep coming back.
The store specializes in embroidered handlooms, and their best stuff can be found in the range of saris, blouse-pieces and ready-made salwar kameezes. The prices are on the higher side, and just a kurta can cost you around Rs. 600, on an average. Ambara also has a small range of ghagras and salwar sets for children, and another section dedicated to dress material, mostly Mangalagiri in solid shades.
None of your clothes will have that mass-produced look. They won't be cheap, either. But regulars at this store pay up quite willingly.
