There is an ad for Archies that used to come on TV a long time ago, which showed a man buying his grandson a stuffed dog from the shop to replace the real one. Now I'm not quite sure if that's possible, but true to its image, this particular outlet of Archies does have a wide variety-of not just soft toys, but other stuff as well.
The things you can find here include imported perfumes, ceramic knick-knacks, crockery, a collection of music, and even the odd Tintin comic. Then there are those thumb-sized books with tiny little messages, for those who have a taste for that.
It's a wholesome gift store in more ways than one. If you buy something, they'll even pack it for you-and there is a range of gift papers to choose from and they'll even put a tiny little card on top. Plus, of course, the whole range of Archies greeting cards. Also, if you wanted to buy a wind chime but got turned off by the pink plastic dolphins that accompany most of them these days, this might just be the place for you. Archie's has an interesting collection of wind chimes, particularly in wood and bamboo.
It helps that it is located close to the row of florists. There's enough stuff on this road to flatter most people.
