Self-doubt fogs the mind of a high school student who's struggling to find answers to one of life's toughest questions: "Am I good enough to be an engineer?" He will not find the answers at Central Publishers, but he'll seriously consider picking up another guide to ICSE/CBSE/SSC mathematics at the store.
Central Publishers is easily the best guide all the school textbooks and guides available in the market. They may not have saved a few lives, but they certainly have helped many generations endure panic attacks in staggering proportions and survive a multitude of examinations.
Central Publishers is not like any of the other bookstores in the twin cities. They have focused on school books, and have had leanings towards the central boards. You'll find neither a vast repository of books like in
Universal at Koti, nor an inviting ambience of a
Odyssey or
Walden. While they do endeavor to take a leaf out of
Himalaya's, they have safely gotten into the good books of all the ICSE schools like
HPS,
Gitanjali,
Nasr etc. by being the official distributor for these institutions.
Can't blame Central for not shedding off their textbook store image and getting a makeover. Students today are well versed with Davies' gem, "We have no time to stand and stare." They've even decentralised their inventory to newer branches to the other parts of the city, enabling you to make book of the fact that they'll still sell ICSE/CBSE guides by the book.
