You must leave your house determined to find this store nestling in the bylanes of Somajiguda, for it lies at the very end of a winding road that goes past the
Villa Marie college, a fertility clinic and Alpine Heights.
The tree-lined street leading upto the store puts you in the mood to spend some money - even if you are nowhere close to living in the lovely, palatial homes skirting the aforementioned lane. Rugs Gallore is set within one such house, rendering it almost impossible to spot from the street.
Not that it matters much, as most of the clientele is looking for that specific something that warrants the hike anyway. The store has so far been frequented mostly by the city's interior designers, who pretty much know what they are looking for.
The place has a penchant for animal prints, and while the name suggests only rugs, it does indeed stock other soft home furnishings like bathmats, bean bags, cushion covers and door mats. The rugs too come in a variety of shapes, sizes and textures to match your need or whim. This would be the place you could find that felted wool, heart shaped bathroom rug, or a shaggy leather rug, 5 feet by 8 feet, for the media room.
While the prices of smaller rugs can vary between Rs. 250 to Rs. 350, which are well within the realm of the reasonable, the prices are slightly on the higher side (vaulting all the way to Rs. 20,000) for larger ones, bean bags and exotic cushion covers. Nevertheless, it is not any more than you can expect for those items that are quite candidly luxe.
