Which is the one place where you'll find works by Sri Sri, Gurajada, Viswanatha Satyanarayana and Kadukuri all revered? All of Andhra Pradesh, of course! And this is the HQ.
Visalandhra houses perhaps the widest collection of Telugu titles in the city. Stocking books from some 400-500 publishers and writers, the store has a plenary of Telugu short stories, plays, poems, novels and subject books. Present among them are books by and on the revered names in vernacular literature.
Since this store plays host to the Telugu-speaking public, it has a great many books on how to learn the English language, with a vernacular-based syntax. The same goes for certain subject books like the ones dealing with mathematical problems. In tune with this, there is a series of books that deal with the correct format of writing something like a formal letter. There are also texts that deal solely with the grammar part of the English language. All these books are provided with Telugu subtexts.
Apart from this, the bookstore has a reasonable number of general knowledge books like the Tell Me Why series and other illustrated encyclopedias.
Visalandhra also functions as publisher and wholesaler. Further, it acts as the distributor of academic and general books to the Telugu Akademi, the
Telugu University and the National Trust of India.
