Zedd, as in full stop, means the ultimate end - or so the staff at this shodding outfit thinks. Credited that Zedd has an appreciable variety of shoes for both men and women, but so does the Lifestyle store, or
Shoppers' Stop, or the entire Abids shoe street. What makes Zedd different is its attitude, not its products.
Wise men say that your character is reflected in the shoes you wear. Perhaps taken too seriously at Zedd, who feel "maintaining a stock of 2,000 shoes is cheek, putting 4 attendants at the customers' disposal is cheekier, and being polite is certainly out of fashion."
The shop is a two-storey affair, with the ground-floor segmented into the ladies' and the gentlemen's section. You will find ladies' high heels priced between Rs. 350 and Rs. 1,300, and a small variety of flats and slip-ons, again in the same range. There are a couple of knee-length boots priced at Rs. 1,800, and some hand-made
jootis. There is also a shelf devoted to leather purses and office bags, priced Rs. 500 and above.
The male section is replete with brands like Redtape, Woodland and Nike, and officious attendants who don't trust you out of their sight. In addition to the summer wear and sandals, there are also formal and casual shoes, though casual browsing is too dangerous to risk.
The upper-floor is an afterthought, and doesn't really have anything on display. Perhaps it is just a traffic diversion ruse, and if you are inadvertently caught there, you might spend ages waiting for stuff to be carried upstairs for you. And if you are unfortunate enough, or broke enough, to not buy anything, they will let you know it.
