Expressions is perhaps the most active theater group in town, and certainly the most popular. Focusing mostly on comedy, it stages plays for corporate programs and also for the general public. The promotor, Arvind Mittal, conducts workshops, usually for children, at the end of which he stages plays with the children.
As we write this in early 2005, the group had just staged Jean Paul Sartre's one-act play "No Exit" in collaboration with the
Alliance Francaise (in September 2004), and also a series of short plays at the Gokak Auditorium at the
Central Institute for English and Foreign Languages in Tarnaka. It also travelled to Bangalore in October 2004 to participate in the Deccan Herald Theater Festival.
For those planning a guided start into the world of theater arts and dramatic, there couldn't be many better teachers in town than Mittal.
