Kalakriti

What would electronic goods and computer peripherals have to do with an art gallery? The owner of Kalakriti sells both - IT products and paintings. Art and antiques have been Prashant Lahoti's passion since his early days, and starting this gallery in 1999 found a suitable outlet for the owner of Access2Future.

The gallery regularly shows works of young upcoming artists, and is planning to feature internationally-renowned artists, too. It also has an annual art camp. The idea is charity - artists gather and paint here, and 100% of the proceeds are donated to charity. Soft of killing two birds with one stone - promotion and charity.

The gallery has already had 10-15 exhibitions as we write this in late 2004, and Prashant keeps meeting artists for featuring their work. The artists-in-residence programme features one artist from outside and one local one, and occurs one week each month. The paintings are then put up for show & sale.

Sculptures are also available on sale, and commissioning of artefacts is possible. Worth a visit if you are an art buyer or merely a dilettante.
