The Expo claims its prices are 20% lesser than anywhere else in the market. Considering they sell lingerie for Rs. 30, this might well be the case. The pricing is as rock-bottom as they can make it, to stand up to the competition from
Lifestyle,
Shoppers' Stop, and
Big Bazaar.
The store is divided into neat little sections:
Artificial Jewelry: Get American diamonds, semi-cultured jewelry (Rs. 38), beads, and junk jewelry for a really good price.
Footwear: For men, there are some great formal shoes (Rs. 599) and some really affordable sports shoes (Rs. 150). The range for ladies starts at Rs. 80.
Dollar Store: The place where you get everything for Rs. 29, Rs. 49, Rs. 99 or Rs. 199. Stuff like china, artefacts and the like.
Clothes: You get Live-In brand clothes for at least Rs. 200 lesser than elsewhere. This section is fairly happening, with some great tops for just Rs. 99. There is also kidswear from Rs. 38 onwards.
Cosmetics: Another great segment of the store, this is where you'll find Camay, Fa, Dove and branded imported perfumes at good discounts.
Home Textiles: Prices (lower limit): linen - Rs. 17, Pillow covers - Rs. 19, Towels - Rs. 21, Bedsheets - Rs. 196
Supermarket: This mini-supermarket has groceries at low rates. The best part of this store is the imported chocolates section. A box of 20 butter-scotch clairs with dark chocolate is just Rs. 270.
Toy Store: Ultra cool remote cars from Rs. 199 onwards.
If
Spencers (Giant) Hypermarket is for groceries, then The Expo is for everything else.
