Over the years, Punjagutta has fast transformed into a gigantic commercial and business district with a plethora of malls, cinemas, shopping centers and small businesses. In a prime area as this, getting economic lodging in a decent hotel could sound wishful thinking. Thankfully, Hotel Urvasi plays refuge to low-budget travellers seeking decent accommodation in the neighbourhood.
Located in a chaotic and dusty tip of Punjagutta, Urvasi is a 4-storeyed, 50-room rustic building opposite to the hope-sellers - the Visu Consultants office. The rooms are decent - well-furnished with oversized beds, glossy mosaic floors, TVs, tables, chairs, phones and clean bathrooms with showerheads and faucets - while the suites are cozily done with carpets, oversized beds, TVs, couches, tables, chairs, and clean bathrooms with tubs, showerheads and faucets. There are however no banquet facilities available.
As everyone who has any history with the area knows, the marquee restaurant/bar is the USP of the hotel, with its economical, taste-bud tickling
food. Indeed, between them, the diner and the rooms make up for all the sins of the neighbourhood, and if you need to stay within a 3km radius, this is economically amongst the most sensible places.
