It stands barely and defiantly on Bank Street. It challenges the beer-bellies emerging out of R P Rustomfram Bar to work it out. It screams into the pollution-ridden faces of pedestrians to opt for the healthy way. It is the evidence of the advantage of exercise over lethargy. For 28 years, Asian Sports has shaken the procrastinating individuals of Koti to attack their layers of adipose.
Okay, now to the mundane before you lose your impetus to sweat it out (and you can thank me later for my conscience-shaking build-up). Owned by Muhamed Akhtar (who was very interested in sports as a young man, so much so that he set up this sports store), this shop gives you all that you need when it comes to sports. Badminton, carroms, cricket, basketball, football... you name it, he's got it.
The prices are reasonable. A cricket bat costs about Rs. 150, and a medium-sized carrom board costs Rs. 140. The sports equipment is of top quality, despite the low rates. Now that's what I call the cheapest way to lose it. I meant flab. What'd you think?
