Hyderabad Gymkhana

It may not be an illegal dancing den, but the Hyderabad Gymkhana has its merits. Generously equipped with both gym and khaana, this club plays the law of averages to its complete advantage, drawing both the health conscious and the diet unconscious.

The workout and sports facilities include: a separate gym for men and women, billiards and pool tables, and a table tennis hall. Besides these, they have two conference halls, a smallish banquet hall, a bar, a family room, a lounge, tambola nights, a movie every Friday, occasional picnics, and coffee table talks on subjects of general interest.

The Hyderabad Gymkhana has basic but good facilities, and an ambience of comfort, fun and leisure. Any illegal dancing, however, will have to be provided by the guest.

Membership details: There's more than one type of membership on offer. Lifetime at Rs. 1 lakh, with no monthly subscription; Permanent at Rs. 50,000, with Rs. 200 monthly subscription; Long-Term Temporary at Rs. 5,000 for 2 years, with a monthly subscription of Rs. 400; Corporate at Rs. 1 lakh for first nominee, and Rs. 50,000 per additional member (upto 4 members); Senior Citizen (above 60 years) at Rs. 7,500 for 5 years, with a monthly subscription of Rs. 200. Membership applications are put up to a committee, scrutinised, and followed up with an interview.
