Now that the giant wave of health consciousness has engulfed our psyche, we are reputedly faced with the unprecedented dilemma-how to stay fit with a minimum of time and expense. The Health Club at Taj Krishna provides both, a chance to manage your fitness issues even when you are on the move.
The club includes facilities like a gym, a Jacuzzi, a massage parlor, a steam-bath, a tennis court and a swimming pool. If you are a temporary resident of the hotel, all this comes for free, but outsiders have to shell out upto Rs. 25,000 for an annual membership. You can register for the Regular Membership, which opens the door to the health club from 6.00am to 10.00pm, or for the Sunshine Membership, which is especially for housewives, with convenient 9.00am to 5.00pm timings.
What goes into the making of a grand hotel apparently doesn't apply to making of great gyms
. Mostly catering to the inhouse guests, the health club gym is not much more than an after-thought added to the glamor of the Jacuzzi and the massage parlor. For the religious fitness freaks, it offers the solace that they don't break their exercise schedule even on their holiday breaks. With its treadmill, stair-master, 2 cycles, cross-trainer, a couple of Swiss balls and a few weights, the gym is not a very visited place. However there are 3 trainers eager to assist you if you holler for help.
The members of the Health Club do receive some nutrition and exercise counselling, but the follow-up mostly depends on how enthusiastic they themselves are about their regimes. The dressing rooms are comfortably done in blue for gents and crme for ladies. The members and the guests alike can soak in the sun by the pool-side, or get a relaxing massage.
There are hundreds of gyms and fitness centers littering the city, budget or expensive, and all boasting expertise in their trade. The health club at the Taj Krishna is not one of them. It offers, more than health or fitness, a brand, and the pride that you work out at the Taj.
