IITC has its roots in Mumbai where it had been founded. It has been spreading its tentacles all over India for 30 years, and now has branches in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Pune. It has been in Hyderabad for over a couple of decades now, and over the past few years has included a few more courses like Jewelry Designing, which are yet to start in some other branches.
The courses at IITC include a wide choice of subjects: Fashion Designing (FD) - drafting & layouts, fashion basics, color theory, modeling, fashion shows etc; Textile Designing (TD) - fabric analysis, weaving theory etc; and Interiors - orthographic projection, perspectives, model-making etc. Most of the faculty are full-time members of the institute, but they do have guest faculty for special subjects. All of them are designers.
IITC is a renown institute, judging by the number of years of its existence and the number of branches. So you can undoubtedly do a part-time course here and get a satisfactory Government-recognized certificate at the end of it. Though they promise recruitment, it mainly depends on "individual talent".
IITC is a good option if you have to do a bridge course before you leave for the US, if you have a summer vacation, or if you are a housewife with lots of time on your hands. The building is not noticeable, and it makes you think twice about your admission. The "campus" is located on the first floor of a duplex-kinda house which is the second left place in the
Chung Hua lane.
