The Scene
Quite good, actually. While a single room hosting a Movenpick, a
Subway and a
Deli 9 might awaken the dormant claustrophobe in you, this is more of an outdoorsy than an indoorsy place. Thanks to the peace of the location that can almost be filed under interior Jubilee Hills, it's inviting to sit outside with whatever sin you've bought yourself. And the 10 wooden benches outside with resident hookahs make the proposition more compelling (it costs to send up smoke, of course - Rs. 150 for 45 minutes).
The babe and hunk factor is high at Rhapsody. So, sometimes, is the Tollywood factor - especially the younger crowd, featuring among others Allu Arjun who hangs out here rather often. The inner enclosure has 9 tables, including a couple of plush sofa sets to spread yourself about.
The Food
Movenpick ("of Switzerland", pardon us all over the place) has been around here since 2006. If you missed it all through, well, you saved yourself a lot of money - a scoop costs Rs. 86, which is twice that at
Baskin Robbins or
New Zealand Natural or
Havmor. Movenpick's excuse is that it is 100% natural. Well, we hope they don't do it next time.
Movenpick offers 24
delightful-looking flavors, and it can be a dangerous idea to keep their flier with all those images at home (home delivery is free within 2km). Toppings cost extra - nuts and cream Rs. 20, fruits Rs. 40, chocolate sauce Rs. 10, strawberry sauce Rs. 10 etc. Yes, you really shouldn't be reading all this if you are fighting the bulge.
It also has many single- and double-scoop sundaes for Rs. 95 and Rs. 175 respectively, frappes for Rs. 165 (2 scoops + milk), sorbets, kids specials, some classic sundaes, and a range of hot and cold coffees (Rs. 30 - Rs. 110), with names like Viennese Coffee With Chocolate and Nutty Mocha sounding quite disturbing. Tea, too - an ordinary tea costs Rs. 30, and a Tea Float, Rs. 110.
The Verdict
Well, if you are going to fatten yourself, you might as well do it in some serenity. Okay, now don't reflect upon that line - it just sounded good, so we typed it. But if you have company that can make you reflect upon better things, this is a good place to have ice cream. Though, given the prices, we'd suggest coffee.
