Sahitya Bharathi

Sahitya Bharathi is the place to be if you want to lay your hands on a display of books ranging from astrology to a smattering of self-help books. This place is basically an 'exhibition' of books, as the owner repeatedly claims. The man in question, D S Rao, has many such exhibitions in places like Vanasthalipuram, Shivam, Kukatpally and R K Puram. He sells most books at MRP, unless you know how to butter him right.

The mediocrity of the collection screams at you in the range of soft-porn novels (the names remain unmentionable). Ironically, they all sit neatly beside classics from Penguin. The only books worth mentioning are the cookery and the astrology books. There is a decent collection of them.

Sahitya Bharathi. The place not to be. Unless you really want to go crazy over a silly display of a sub-level quality of books.
