One step ahead of its kid brother
The Fifth Element by the virtue of its name, this booze-hole proves exactly how a big brother must be ? providing for shelter when weak, providing for booze when thirsty and providing for snacks when hungry. Unfortunately, it also provides for a bill when you don't ask for it.
The blue lights do more than just drive your blues away here. For a place in an upmarket locality, everything is not as expensive as it should be. The fantastic sound system and the dance floor don't cost you an arm and a leg. And the acoustics are put to proper use by the three DJs Julian, Shweth, and Clement (from Bangalore) who play hip-hop, rock, indi-pop and the remixes. Even the DJ console is unique here.
Saturdays are corporate nights, and Thursdays are ladies' nights. The latter are also called the Hens' Night. Pity they don't have a men's night, which would have had a really interesting name, going by the trend.
Special drinks like Blue Island ? an ice tea cocktail with six different drinks (Sixth element, get it? Good. We don't.) - are quite popular with the party crowds. The joint happens to be really hot on the private party circuits because of the space, acoustics and reasonable prices.
