A movie is supposed to stir the senses - Padmavathi deep-fries them. The ears and eyes of the viewers in the lower stalls of Padmavathi are hammered by obnoxious sound levels and blinding brightness. To be fair, though, these are problems experienced only there. The upper stalls of Padmavathi are a fabulous movie-watching experience. The great legroom available can help you fall asleep in the deep comfy seats. The luxury comes complete with cup-holders and state-of-the-art air-conditioning. The popcorn here is expensive, but is available in four flavors.
The theater, after many years of B-Grade films and porn, re-opened (after an extensive facelift) in 2001. It is now one of the city's premier theaters that show first-release Hindi movies. Dus-ka-thees does not exist here. Dus-ka-pachaas does.
The first two shows of both Padmavathi and its bigger twin Venkataramana and are patronized by students and slackers, and the following two by families. Though a serious shortcoming of the theater is its lack of parking space for 4-wheelers, the parking attendants will help you cram your car in the tiniest space available.
Generally a good place for entertainment and relaxation after a busy day's shopping in the nearby Sultan Bazaar.

Feb 21, 2016, went to see Neerja 9:00 PM show.
1. Very open black marketing of tickets (Right in front of ticket counter inside the Theater boundary
2. Broken chairs inside, you can feel the cranking of rusted springs when you push back
3. Sound Quality was bad, had to concentrate hard to understand
4. Video/Screen/Picture was terribly blur as if downloaded pirated copy was being played.

The theatre is not as bad and sad as painted above.. The review needs to be updated.. It is a gud alternative when u dont like to spend 150 for a movie that u can watch for Rs 70. The music and seating were all neat and cute. Oh yes u can still get 5 desi chote samosas for Rs 10, refreshing from the Rs 325 worth Nachos or Tacos.. And it also plays mainstream stuff like Happy New Year.. Guys thoda desi and local trader ko encourage karo..
the seat covers are stained with pan. if you get a seat in the corner, then make sure you bathe with dettol when you get home. totally this place is a terrible theatre.
