Shrishti Art Gallery

Shrishti is part of a large house belonging to its owner, Ramani Nambiar. You will know you're at the right place if you see an affable old retreiver sunning himself in the driveway. Like all art galleries, this one is also tucked away quietly in a non-descript neighbourhood. But unlike most other galleries, Shrishti is not content to snooze under a layer of complacent dust. Next to Daira, it's one of the city's most active art houses.

The ambience is ideal for a leisurely browse, without the pulls and pressures of commerce. But the selection of works ensures a keen clientele, one that knows its art and doesn't mind paying for it. The gallery collection includes Laxma Goud, Vaikuntam, Anjolie Ela Menon, Paresh Maity, Sameer Mandal, Jatin Das and S G Vasudev. Shrishti also has a very helpful website that allows you to select, buy and even discuss art online.

The gallery allows artists to display their work for free, and charges a commission on works sold. Shrishti also stocks sculpture, and stone and brass statuettes. You'll find friendly advice, good art, and quite a large collection of artists here. Whether you want to buy art or just peacefully drink it in, Shrishti allows you the space.
