Hotel Woodbridge

Appearances deceive. From outside, Woodbridge might not appear like a hotel that would charge you upwards of Rs. 2,000 a day. Once you enter inside, however, you find a 3-star hotel with a lazy charm, and a promise of "all the time in the world".

The sofas in the lobby are plush enough to give the impression that you are sinking into them. They rest on tiger skin, suggesting a Nizam-like ambience. The lobby is also decorated with a painting that has a beautiful story to tell. While at the hotel, make the time to ask someone to narrate you that.

Woodbridge is a modest affair in terms of size. But you won't notice anything except plush comfort and warm hospitality. Rooms of both categories offer the frills that you would expect from a 3-star hotel. They are all fairly large, giving one the advantage of space.

The banqueting facilities of the hotel leave little to be desired - named Woodhouse, the hall is neatly done up. The roof-top is a popular venue for informal gatherings - in fact, the hotel is hugely popular with corporates looking for a venue to conduct recruitment interviews at, and for weddings.

The restaurant Something To Talk About takes care of all your dining needs - it has a breakfast buffet for Rs. 90 and a lunch buffet for Rs. 149, and both are worth the price. There is also a restaurant on the 4th floor called Chowki, which is open only for dinners.

Woodbridge sits on the Lakdi-ka-Pul - Masab Tank main road, and is quite close to the Hyderabad railway station at Nampally (less than 3km, a 7-minute drive). It would be about 10km from the airport, which is a 20-minute drive in rush hour. Woodbridge is a good place to stay at if you have business in central Hyderabad.
