Touted as one of the hottest food chains of Delhi, Dills is easy to miss along the crowded Raj Bhavan Road, crammed as it is between so many stores, big and little. And if you do see it, you might not be particularly tempted to drop in, as there's nothing remarkable about the look of the place. But if you ignore the exteriors and step in, the divine smell of Tandoori roast in the air might change your mind. It'll take a stronger will-power than most have to pass up on the promise of that smell.
Dills only serves Tandoori and other North-Indian food, without giving in to the popular tendency to include Chinese and Andhra. And you'll find a few new items on the menu, like the Afghani Chicken Tandoor, the Pudina Murgh Tandoor and the Hariyali Paneer Tikka, for starters.
A variety of naans, including Kheema and Paneer, is available here, plus stuffed parathas and even Onion Kulchas. Dills also does a very good job of the common Butter Chicken, making it tangy and not as oily as usual. You will also enjoy the Karahi Paneer, Rogan Josh, Handi Chicken and the creamy Dal Makhni.
Dills also does Executive Lunches for around Rs. 45 (veg) and if you're within a 2km radius, you can have the food delivered at no extra cost. The lunches usually include rice, 2 rotis, Dal Makhni, Veg/Chicken Curry and Egg Curry. The decor is very basic, and Dills looks like a North-Indian version of
Hyderabad House, as most of its dishes are re-prepared. So go ahead and place that order, you won't be disappointed.
