Aakruthi Art Gallery

From jokers to rag dolls, from dancers to devils, from beasts to angels, he has traced them all. Welcome to the lush and evocative world of Arvind Mahoorkar's paintings. His ideas have found expression in water-colors, crayons, fabric-painting, sketching, sculpture and stained glass. He has even invented a new medium for moulding, working with a combination of Araldite and flour. All of this unique work forms the background to his labor of love, the Aakruthi Art Gallery.

Aakruthi was in gestation for a while, during Mahoorkar's long and successful career as an architect. But in his sixties, he decided to go back to his first passion, painting.

At Aakruthi, expect to also see the works of upcoming artists who can't afford a solo exhibition. Both Mahoorkar's work and those of his chosen artists are worth the long, bumpy, muddy ride here.
