Jyoti isn't a bad theater. While watching a scene shot at a railway station, for example, you will hear even the background sound of the moving train very loudly and clearly. Unfortunately, you might hear the same sound in a scene that isn't shot at a railway station, too. That's because there's a railway station nearby, and the sound effects are very very real.
Established in 1992, Jyoti is the only theater in this part of the town that believes in adding its own unwanted background score. The intermittent announcements from the nearby railway station and the aural emmissions of the trains can be heard uncensored, despite the claims of the management of housing a Dolby sound system. The A/C, too, is ineffectual.
The interiors of the hall are way too ordinary. You would at least expect a few posters of the current film, or paintings, or clean loos, or comfortable chairs, or a decent parking area. To your misfortune, there's none of these. Unless you want to catch crabs using your groin as bait, stay a pre-emptive 100 meters away from the loo.
On the whole, this is not a must-visit place. But if you want to teach your in-laws a thing or two about life, this is the den.
