Started in 1982 with a mission to uplift the A-rated cinema market, Shama hasn't budged an inch from its motto. The hall and its environs are effortlessly adaptable to, and if you're a Romeo for these kind of flicks, this is one of the best destinations for a leisurely ride into the realm of sleazy, innovative films.

The management seems to have mastered the art of captivating viewers, and the rats around, with minimal effort. While the worn-out audio system fails to divert the viewers' attention from the screen, the rats would be gnawing away to glory at the diminishing cushion from the seats. But don't worry, the rats are trained not to harm viewers, especially the ones in the balcony.

The toilets are... forget it. The cafes around and the canteen within the theater serve insipid chai-coffee-samosas, but who cares? The real treat is being served onscreen.
