Hotel Central Court
believes in providing more class in your budget. Touch Of Class is a refuge for the local biggish-money-businessmen who deal in the daily affairs of the city. At the end of a hard day, these men meet over glasses to seal a new deal, or to fish for newer ones. The softly-lit restaurant gives out a calming welcome to these men of sweat, especially with its selection of liquors.
You'll hardly find any women in this place, a fact perhaps attributed to Touch Of Class serving liquor on its premises, and its reputation of being a men's joint. However, if you insist on having a lunch out at TOC, you'll not be disappointed. The staff will be courteous and cool (with the Level Lounge
going all out to entice the ladies), and will even pull out your chair for you.The Food
From the soup to the main course, you can expect real good taste for your money. Not exactly going overboard with the veg. menu, TOC does have real good Zeera Alloo Capsicum (a dry dish made of stir-fried boiled potatoes and capsicum). A whiff of their Daal Makhani's spiraling aroma will be enough to make you forgo any inclinations for the starters. Which will not be too good an idea, especially if you are a fish lover. You'll not want to miss the Fish Pepper Chilly - most restaurants try to pass boiled fish, wrapped in a pinch of ginger-garlic paste and rolled in loads of besan
, as a fish snack - at TOC, they actually know and follow that boiled or otherwise, a fish likes to be left in its masala
(marinade), before you can fry or grill it.
The Chicken Chettinaad, prepared with dry red peppers, curry-leaves and rai, is a must eat, too. You can even pick a country chicken if you don't like the broiler variety for your preparations. You can expect to have your table refilled with papads
, fry-ums, and other odd-bits, throughout your meal. TOC is also known for serving exotic fruit salads - again, all on the house. The Verdict
Not exactly a hangout for the classy
types, Touch Of Class will fill you with tastes to savor, provided you bring your own company.
