Khana Khazana

The Scene
Khana Khazana is, as it proclaims, all about the food. Don't expect a classy table setting, napkins, or 'restaurant music'. Don't even look closely at the plates. Instead, sit back on the old sofa, and sing along softly to the latest Shah Rukh flick's numbers. You can even read what other people said about Khana Khazana on your place mats, as it's printed on them along with their names and phone numbers!

You will find newly married North-Indian couples here for the 'true North Indian flavor'. You will also find Aunties and Uncles with their children arguing over Chinese or North-Indian. Just put on a brave face and wait for the food. In the meanwhile, look around at the eclectic artwork adorning the walls - both Van Gogh inspired paintings and abstract squares made of designer glass randomly interject your vision. With the dim soothing lighting, however, you are not wont to take offence however puritan your views on art might be.

The Food
Divine. Seriously. Rotis of perfect thickness, texture and color served piping hot by a really attentive waiter. There is no gap between one roti and another, and there shouldn't be. Keep them coming, I say!

The flavor of the food is truly fantastic, and Khana Khazana makes even a plain Jane Dum Aloo melt in the mouth. Specialties include Vegetable Kolhapuri, Kadai Mushroom and Methi Chaman Hariyali with the Kabuli Naan. Although the menu has Chinese cuisine on offer too, I recommend sticking to the North-Indian. If you're feeling adventurous, try the mango-biscuit pudding for dessert! Of course you always have the 'Garden Fresh Juices' to wash everything down.

The Verdict
Delicious North-Indian food. Reasonable value for money. Not a good choice, however, if you're taking out picky 'foreign-returned' friends who can only drink mineral water.
