Here's a business that went global before it thought local. The makers of Indian Terrain menswear, Celebrity Fashions, ship fabrics and styles to Amrika, where they retail under brands like Diesel, Banana Republic, Timberland and Marlboro. This might also explain the prices at this store.

But if you don't mind paying upwards of Rs. 900 for a shirt - and no aspiring metrosexual should - then Indian Terrain might have something nice in a metallic blue. We kid. The shirts here aren't too wild, but they make the ideal choice for party wear. The fabrics are good-looking and durable. Expect to see some bold prints, especially in checks and stripes. It helps that the designers have an eye on the international fashion trends.

Trousers and shirts are the mainstay at Indian Terrain, with a few leather belts constituting the accessories department. The prices are in keeping with the look and location of the store, and start at around Rs. 895, going up to Rs. 1,695.

Indian Terrain also retails from several multi-brand outlets and department stores. This is their shot at flying solo. A good stop-over if you have someplace to go. And the dress code doesn't say black tie.
