The Scene
It's debatable if chat can actually be enjoyed sitting down - not many people have tried it. The best chat has to be gobbled standing, preferably close to the chatwallah so that you can tell him not to be stingy with the onions or to hold off the meeta. The little chat stall outside Balaji Supermarket in Basheerbagh allows you to do all this, and serves up one the best plates of aloo toast in town.
The Food
Aloo Toast at its crunchiest, spiciest best is made with a special chutney which holds the key to the many happily stuffed faces around. Generously buttered toast topped with aloo, chutney and sev, this dish really gets popular after 6pm. Ragada cutlet and samosa also make their way around, but it's clear what the crowd favorite is.

At around 15 bucks a plate, the Aloo Toast is the best deal you'll find at this little roadside stall next to Chung Hua.
