Dimmy Pan Palace

This area of Sindhi Colony is a total hangout joint with the younger lot. It's where guys come to show off their suped-up bikes and blaring car-stereo systems. Around 7pm is the busiest time to visit, and you'll find the steps leading to Dimmy full of people gorging on chat and sandwiches - the cheese sandwiches here are very good - from the vendor outside.

This stretch of road has many places you can eat at after the sun sets, but during the day the maximum action at Dimmy happens over its ice golas. Gaggles of college girls are a common sight in the afternoons.

One of only two places in the entire Secunderabad area where you get good ice golas, Dimmy is popular for its Kala Khatta, Grape and Khova flavors. The last one is made by pouring rose syrup in a glass, and topping it off with crushed ice and a thick layer of ultra-sweet khova. This is only for sweet-toothed people of the die-hard sort.

Although it is a popular place, you might not enjoy sitting here and eating unless you're with a couple of friends. During the day, of course, it's too hot to sit outside, and the air-conditioning at Dimmy doesn't always work. Besides, it's too small and dark a place to spend time at. Which is why most people prefer to eat in their cars or grab a gola on the run.
