Interworld

Interworld has a description on its business card that says, "It's a material world." There sure is a lot of material to browse through in the store: the ground floor has floor-to-ceiling shelves all around the periphery, and these are well stocked with all kinds of home décor items. There is an extensive collection of cushion covers, bedcovers and other kinds of bed linen. Many varieties of table linen including tablemats and napkin sets are available, but at Rs. 300+ for a set of 6, I found them to be pricier than those I've seen elsewhere.

There are some nice desktop accessories in paper and leather, wall hangings, fancy dressing table mats etc. A table displays decorative candles, pot-pourri and other aromatherapy-related articles. Another section is filled with bathroom accessories like mats, shower curtains, laundry baskets and bathroom-counter sets.

On the 1st floor are the furnishing fabrics. The range is wide, and if you take the time to look through carefully, you'll find some unusual abstract patterns that are probably not available elsewhere. The prices start at Rs. 245 per meter, but the designs I found attractive were in the Rs. 455+ range. There is one stand in a corner that holds rolls of silk/satin mix fabric with exotic Chinese patterns. These are very unusual, and are worth the splurge (Rs. 850+ per meter) if you have an area of your home that has an oriental accent.

Interworld offers a tailoring service for curtains, and also supplies and fits wall-to-wall carpets and drapery rods.

The store does have a lot to offer, but I felt that it had not displayed its items properly. The groupings are a little random and confusing, and the space is under-utilized. The customer would do well to go through everything on display, which will take some time, for there are some really nice things that aren't shown to their best advantage.
