Eating out is quite a mission these days. With an explosion of new places, it has become increasingly complicated. But when examined astutely, it can be done in 3 simple steps:
1. Opening of the mouth
2. Stuffing the food in
3. Chewing and swallowing
Although the last step requires paramount levels of energy, it is still best done by the person who's supposed to eat rather than hiring someone else to do it for him.
The above steps solve the eating problem effectively (proof: Telugu heroines), but places like Marry Brown complicate it further.
On the 2nd level of the
Prasad's multiplex, Marry Brown adds to the already lengthy list of "best places to grab a quick bite". The bright and gay shades of blue, yellow and red welcome our appetite with open hands, and it's almost impossible to resist their embrace.
Marry Brown is a Malaysian fast food chain having franchises all over the world. Their outlets are spread over Southern India (Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore) and will now mushroom around the twin cities.
Okay, so once you got the funda about being a worldwide chain, you also get that the prices are going to be through the roof. But what comes as a pleasant surprise is the value for the price you pay.
The combos here are worth every little child you sold to eat here. A brief glance at the snack-bar:
Floger FoodSingle snacks. Recommendations - Fried chicken, 1 piece Rs. 35
BeveragesAlong with the colas, some nice milk shakes, Rs. 29
Favourite CombosStudents' BurgerA not-so-large burger + coke, Rs. 29
Hotouch + fries + cokeThe best meal available at the joint. It includes a medium burger with tender, tangy and smooth meat topped with generous amounts of cheese and lettuces. The buns are as soft as a sponge cake, making this a piece of heaven. The way to a man's heart is surely through his food pipe all right. A regular pack of French fries and coke added. Rs. 89.
Sea Food CombosFish burger + fries + coke, Rs. 79
Fish 'n' chips + fries + coleslaw, Rs. 109
(But the seafood is much better in
Subway (that Submarine sandwich place at Banjara Hills) than in here.)
Fried Chicken ComboThe best bet here is this combo: 2 fresh salads + 4 buns + 9 pieces chicken + coke, Rs. 229
Just For Two2 Vegetable Burgers + 10 nuggets + 1 large pack of fries + 1 coleslaw + 2 coke, Rs. 219
Jumbo ComboA family pack for Rs. 449
Apart from these, you can have a proper
a la carte by choosing your own combos.
The place, however, might be a disappointment for the veggies. Not because there isn't enough vegetarian, but because you're missing out on the best food at the place.
In the end, a good place to visit if you're at Prasad's. Nothing much said about the prices, because you're anyway prepared for spending if you're at Prasad's.
