Our Place

If you're tired of the sterile comfort of an air-conditioned restaurant, this is the place for you. Out in the fresh air with potted plants, manicured hedges, lush lawns and a couple of mildly outraged geese for company, Our Place is another restaurant that has hit successfully upon a formula that worked instantly and has continued to draw the crowds. After all, it's no mean task keeping a place this big, filled to capacity.

The formula we speak of is one that involves a varied menu that indulges all the broad categories of tastes, enough privacy for your table, charming rustic decor, and live ghazals on weekend evenings. It goes without saying that you don't hurry a meal here - it would defeat the entire purpose.

Even with its range of cuisines, Our Place is best for its North-Indian food. The rotis and kebabs here are very good, down to the details like the crisp freshness of the rotis and the chutney served with the kebabs. Murgh Garlic Kebab, Crispy Corn Pepper and Paneer Malai Kebabs make for excellent appetizers.

Dig into the Palak Kofta, Butter Chicken, Murgh Kalimirch or Rogan Josh for the main course - they're specialties of the house. With roti you can also try the Dum Aloo and Dal Makhni.

Desserts are limited, and you'll only find a small selection of ice-creams here, of which the Fig & Honey is a favorite. Our Place is also a popular venue for children's birthday parties, and the restaurant also organises entertainment for these events.

This is a good place to visit if you like your space and quiet. One recurring problem here, though, is the absence of a separate liquor section, which means the odd group will get rambunctious, and there's not much the management can do to control the situation.

But for the most part, it's the singular lack of excitement that people visit Our Place for. It's a break, if you need one, from the loud energy of other newer restaurants. This is usually the reason people either keep away or keep coming back.
